I really appreciate Comcast keeping me updated on their process when we chat on the phone–
“okay, Michelle, I’m now pressing the activate button and then we will wait for the signal…
I have pressed the signal button so we’ll just wait a little longer…
we are now just waiting to see if it reaches your machine…
as we wait I’m going to now fill you in on our newest promotions…
we are still waiting for the signal…”
Really, I do appreciate it because the silence is often disconcerting.
But, I am so tempted to mirror the updates:
“I am opening the top of my travel coffee mug so I can take a sip…
I am now going to take a sip which will make me unable to respond for a moment…
I have taken the sip and it was delicious, now I am mentally running through the chores I can complete while we wait for the system to reboot…
There’s not much since I have to stay right here next to the modem…
I will take another sip of coffee now…”
